I was pleased to agree to be a case study for Janine in December 2006, as I already now what an effective and compassionate practitioner she is through receiving healing for other health problems using therapies in which she is already qualified.

Background: very briefly, over the 55 years I have lived on this planet, my life has been a whirl of physical activity working with horses and pubs, and as a secretary (for which I am totally unsuited) when that was the only sensible option for paying the bills. Emotionally I have been fairly well battered too, surviving two divorces and bringing up my only daughter single handed. I married an equally emotionally battered chap 11 years ago after living together for 10 years, and treasure every day that we have together.

The problem: Feet. A year or two into my last stint as a publican, about 1992, the arches of my feet collapsed and bunions began to develop rapidly, and by the time we sold up in 2000 the big toe had settled into a sideways position squashing all the smaller ones. I was by then experiencing a lot of pain in my feet, not only in the toes, but all over the balls and soles of both feet. We were a very successful team, and not being one to crumple I took as little notice of it as I could and carried on – as you do – until it got so bad that I actually got as far as seeing a consultant at the hospital with a view to operating, but I couldn’t give myself two months off work, so I decided against it. Instead I spent a fortune at a chiropodist, had plaster casts taken and inserts made for me shoes. I could no longer wear heels, (how I loved my shoes!) and had to take to flat shoes which I hated then, but don’t mind now I have such a different life. Some mornings I got out of bed and as soon as I stood on my feet, there the pain was. It also made driving difficult. Over the last 7 years complementary therapies have helped with my more immediate problems which dwarfed the feet so to speak, so they became more noticeable as the other problems melted away.

Janine came over to our house to conduct the session, which I found very different, and very interesting. She was gently sympathetic as she took me further and further back into my childhood searching for the reason behind the eventual physical manifestation of dis-ease in my feet. We both drank a lot of water whilst the tapping was going on, and I found myself laughing heartily at the absurdity of the little comments I had overheard from my grandma, who lived with us but really couldn’t be bothered with me – I was the middle child. The time just flew, and at the end of the session I just felt what can only be described as enormous relief, so much lighter. Since then, I can honestly report that the pain in my feet has gone. I work a couple of 8 hour shifts a week involving standing and running about, and prior to the EFT session when I got home all I wanted to do was to put my throbbing feet up, now I can do a shift and hardly notice them. Such a massive improvement is so fantastic it’s well worth writing about!

Yours faithfully
